
Half a work of art and half a tourist attraction, The Vessel has been an instant success. Every day, especially on weekends, hundreds of adventurers approach Hudson Yards to ascend to the skies of Manhattan up their endless stairs.
It is a real magnet for the eyes located in this new neighborhood, to the west of the island, which consists of five office skyscrapers, a shopping center with a Spanish gastronomic market called Little Spain and an impressive cultural center whose facade moves on wheels.
The author of this monument is Thomas Heatherwick, responsible for other amazing structures such as the Olympic pebetero of the London 2012 games.
Although everyone already knows her as The Vessel for a while she had another much more literal title, New York’s Staircase (or the New York Stairs).
